Suffered a loss, damage or potential liability?
- Take all reasonable measures to protect people and property and prevent further loss
- Contact police or emergency services if appropriate
- Call us as soon as it is practical to do so - for non-urgent matters you can complete our Notification Form.
- Record details of persons involved and property damaged
- Obtain police report number (if police contacted)
- Take some digital images if possible. These may be helpful at a later time.
- Forward any documents you receive to us as soon as practical.
Don't
- Admit Liability - even if you believe you are in the wrong. This may prejudice your Insurers rights and impact your policy
- Negotiate settlement with a 3rd party. Again this may prejudice your Insurers rights and impact your policy
- Leave your property in harms way unless it cannot be avoided
Motor Claims
- Take all reasonable measures to protect people and property and prevent further loss
- Identify all third parties and potential witnesses (record their details)
- If possible digital images of damage to your vehicle, other vehicles and property may be useful later
- Record details of Tow Truck operator and Repairer where your vehicle is being taken if it is towed
- Do not drive your vehicle unless you are absolutely sure it is safe and no further damage will be caused
- Do not leave your vehicle unsecured at the scene unless injury or safety prevent removal
Property Claims
- Take all reasonable measures to protect your property and prevent prevent further damage
- Record the date and details of what happened
Liability Claims
- Take action to prevent further injury or property damage
- Provide or obtain first aid treatment to anyone injured
- Call an ambulance if appropriate
- Treat anyone injured with courtesy and respect
- Obtain details of injured persons and any witnesses
- Digital images of the location and anything relevant may be useful at a later time
- Do not admit liability even if you believe you are in the wrong
- Contact us as soon as you can

These policies are written on a 'Claims Made' basis. This means they only respond to claims 1st made and reported during the period of insurance. It is therefor imperative that you advise us immediately you become aware of a potential claim or action.
If you fail to report a claim that you become aware of during the policy period, you lose the opportunity to claim.
